Bio:
Eric Mendez is the Chief of Police for the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department, a role he has held since 2017. With 34 years of law enforcement experience, Chief Mendez brings seasoned leadership and a deep commitment to school safety and community-oriented policing. Prior to his current position, he served as Chief of Police for Austin ISD Police Department for five years, where he led initiatives to enhance campus security and build strong relationships with students and staff.
Chief Mendez holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to fostering safe educational environments and advancing professional standards within school-based law enforcement.
