We are seeking a driven, self-starting Accounting Intern / Clerk who likes puzzles and is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under the supervision of our staff, the Accounting Intern can expect to participate in the identification and correction of bookkeeping errors ranging from the simple to the complex, assist in end of period closing procedures, preparation of financial reports, analysis of actual financial data, become proficient in Quickbooks, establish a foundation of knowledge to easily adapt to other accounting software, and assist with other accounting activities. You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.  This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in a career in accounting or finance or as an entrepreneur.
 
Accounting Intern/Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records for a variety of clients in a multitude of industries.
  • Completing period-end close procedures
  • Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows.
  • Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable operations for the company or clients. 
  • Working with Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online.
  • Entry of large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Learning how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients.
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
 
Accounting Intern/Clerk Requirements:

  • Highly organized
  • Able to multitask
  • Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
  • Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
  • Enrolled in or completed college level courses a plus.
