About Us

Cypress Family Eyecare was founded by Dr. James Oevermann in 1999. Dr. Oevermann graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1997. He is a Therapeutic Optometrist classically trained in prescribing glasses and contacts with extra studies devoted to disease detection and treatment. He can prescribe topical antibiotics, oral antibiotics and steroids for a wide variety of eye diseases and infections. Dr. Oevermann is also certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist licensed to treat, diagnose and manage glaucoma. Dr. Oevermann spent 2 years after graduation in Paris, TX under the direction of an Ophthalmologist where he followed many surgical and medical cases closely.
