About Us

With faithful support from individuals, churches and foundations, Presbyterian Children's Home's and Services (PCHAS) serves nearly 4,500 children and families every year. We offer a variety of residential-and community-based programs across three states-Texas, Louisiana and Missouri. PCHAS trains foster families, places foster children through the child welfare system, offers case management along with initiatives to empower churches to support foster care families.

PCHAS believes that the most powerful way to help children is by strengthening their families. We accomplish this by living into our philosophy of care which is to be family centered, strength focused, and goal driven.

We are a faith-based Christian organization which strives to serve like Jesus. We meet our clients where they are and treat them with respect. We focus on our clients’ strengths rather than their problems. And we encourage our clients to focus on their future rather than their past.

PCHAS helps children heal from trauma so they can build healthy relationships, succeed in education and discover their own world of opportunities and possibilities. In the Cypress/Houston area we offer four programs: Foster Care and Adoption, Single Parent Family, Child and Family programs and the Counseling Center at PCHAS.
