About Us

Shield Bearer Counseling Centers is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Greater Houston area since 2005. Our mission is to provide compassionate, professional, and accessible mental health counseling, ensuring that financial hardship is never a barrier to receiving care.

We offer individual, marriage, family, and children's counseling, support groups, workshops, crisis response, telehealth, and community-based services. Shield Bearer partners with businesses, schools, churches, first responders, healthcare organizations, and nonprofits by providing employee counseling, leadership development, crisis response, professional training, and customized wellness programs.

In 2025, Shield Bearer provided more than 22,210 counseling services, with 78% of clients receiving reduced-fee care. We served individuals and families facing depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief, addiction, family violence, human trafficking, marriage challenges, and suicide ideation while supporting veterans, first responders, children, and families throughout our community.
