Bio:
Justin Reed is the Assistant Chief and EMS Director at Cy-Fair Fire Department (CFFD), where he leads a team of 150 full-time staff members and oversees 16 ambulances responding to over 40,000 calls annually. Under his leadership, CFFD has become a recognized industry leader in innovation and practice, ranking #1 in Customer Satisfaction for large EMS services in 2023 by the EMS Survey Team. With 20 years of experience in EMS, Reed is known for his exceptional leadership, patient care, and commitment to service excellence.
Reed holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care from Western Carolina University and a Master’s in Healthcare Innovation from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of the American College of Paramedic Executives and was named one of the American Ambulance Association's "40 Under 40" in 2021.
In addition to his role at CFFD, Chief Reed represents Harris County on the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council's (SETRAC) governing board and was elected to the National Association of EMS Managers. His efforts to combat the opioid crisis span local, regional, and national levels, where he collaborates with law enforcement and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) office, regularly providing critical data on opioid trends and their local impact. He also appeared in a documentary addressing the U.S. fentanyl crisis.
