Speaker: Jennifer Ramirez, The Women's Fund for Health Education and Resilience - Senior Program Coordinator
Topic: Stress and Coping
Bio:
Jennifer joined The Women’s Fund in January 2022. Prior to joining, she was part of a nonprofit organization in Bryan, TX. She received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Occupational Safety and Health from Texas A&M University in 2021 where she became the President of a Women’s Organization on campus. She discovered her passion for serving by always being involved in her community. She is currently pursuing a Master’s In Business Administration and she aspires to be a leading example for young women and girls.
Focuses on understanding stress and learning effective coping strategies. It explores the nature of stress, recognizing both its positive and negative forms, and identifies common stressors such as finances, relationships, body image, and health. The presentation explains how excessive stress can lead to physical and emotional symptoms, including headaches, anxiety, and weakened immune function. It emphasizes the importance of identifying stress triggers, utilizing time management tools like the Covey time management matrix, and adopting healthy coping strategies such as guided relaxation. The session concludes by encouraging participants to find personal, healthy methods to manage daily stress and maintain well-being.
